THE SYSTEM

The above solar- hydrogen system is a stand-alone solution designed to provide district electricity. It consists of a photovoltaic panel, that supplies power to an electrolyser in order to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen is then stored in a tank to feed the hydrogen fuel cell in the case of demand. The fuel cell uses hydrogen and oxygen to produce electricity, heat and water. 

 

In order to be able to aid investigations into the feasibility of this system, the team worked to create a scalable and adaptable sizing tool to efficiently determine the size of each component depending on a certain demand.
